The person behind Shinrin Yoku Odenwald is the geographer, zoologist and certified nature guide Silke Hable. As an experienced nature guide, as a coach and mentor I strive to lead my clients and guests to a deep and very personal connection to nature and to themselves. The principles of Coyote Teaching are guiding me in my work.
Shinrin Yoku is Japanese and in English means "Forest Bathing" or "taking in the forest atmosphere". Shinrin Yoku is no sport and thus is not strenuous. Nonetheless, it contributes greatly to promoting and maintaining good health. Shinrin Yoku is both gentle therapy and a relaxing adventure - in a deep encounter with nature and with oneself.
Shinrin Yoku enhances your health. That's why you shouldn't "forest bathe" just anywhere. With Shinrin Yoku Odenwald, we stick to the quality criteria of the association "Mensch und Wald" (www.menschundwald.de), whose deputy chairperson I am. The members of this association not only are experienced nature guides, educators and/or therapists; they also possess substanciated training, are using a wide array of methods and also choose carefully the forests in which they are offering Shinrin Yoku. Why is this important?
